Beginning April 1, the Syracuse University Sport Management Club, in collaboration with Steiner Sports Memorabilia, will hold an online auction of more than 20 premium items
on http://www.steinermarketplace.com. The online auction runs through April 10. Visitors to the main Steiner site will need to look for graphics directing them to the online auction.

The online auction precedes the third annual Charity Sports Auction, presented by the SU Sport Management Club, on Tuesday, April 8, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. Proceeds from the online auction and the charity event will benefit the American Diabetes Association and the club. For more information,

The online auction will offer a wide range of sports memorabilia, including a baseball bat autographed by Barry Bonds, a NASCAR fire suit autographed by Scott Riggs, a team-autographed Buffalo Sabres jersey and a Denver Nuggets basketball jersey autographed by former SU basketball star Carmelo Anthony.

Tickets to sporting events will also be up for bid in the online auction, including two tickets to the first game of the 2008 Major League Baseball World Series, "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and the set of "Football Night in America" at the NBC Studios with SU alumnus Bob Costas '74.

The online auction will also feature once-in-a-lifetime experiences, including an "Owner for a Day" NASCAR experience in Texas, a one-week beach house vacation in Hilton Head, S.C., and "A Day in the Booth" with SU Athletics/Carrier Dome announcer Michael Veley, director and department chair of SU's Department of Sport Management.

The third annual Charity Sports Auction on April 8 also includes the presentation of the Perseverance in Sport Award to five-year-old cancer survivor and golf prodigy Kyle Lograsso of Philadelphia and the Jreck Subs Distinguished Lecture, delivered by SU trustee and member of the Syracuse All-Century Football Team Donovan McNabb '99. The lecture and award presentation begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by a silent auction from 7:30-9:30 p.m. The award presentation, lecture and auction are open to the public.

The April 8 silent auction features more than 400 items, including sports memorabilia from professional and collegiate sports teams and players, as well as non-sports-related items including jewelry, electronics and restaurant gift certificates.

Tickets for the event are $10 for adults and $5 for all students, 5 years of age and up. (SU students can use their SUpercard Plus accounts to purchase tickets.) Tickets can be purchased in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office or by calling 1 (888) DOMETIX (366-3849).
