As part of its Sherman F. Levey Distinguished Lawyer Lecture Series, Syracuse University College of Law will host James P. Kreindler, a partner with Kreindler & Kreindler LLP and the lead attorney for the Pan Am Flight 103 families' suit against Libya. His lecture, "The Bombing of Pan Am Flight 103: The Last Major Aviation Liability Trial and the Settlement with Libya," is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, at 11:45 a.m. in Room 200 of MacNaughton Hall. Public parking for this event is in Irving Garage.
Kreindler is co-chair of the 9/11 Plaintiffs' Committee suing terror financiers and supporters. Kreindler is currently taking the lead role as a member of the Plaintiffs' Committee in the Pan Am Flight 103 families' suit against Libya, which has already produced $2.15 billion in additional compensation for the families of the Lockerbie victims.
Kreindler played a major role in the litigation against Pan Am arising from the Flight 103 disaster over Lockerbie, Scotland, as a member of the Plaintiffs' Trial Team. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College and earned a J.D. degree at Columbia University, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
The Levey Lecture Series was established through the generosity of SU College of Law alumnus and former visiting professor of law Sherman F. Levey L'59 to provide members of the College of Law community the opportunity for contact and exchange with distinguished practitioners from around the world.
