Accounting students from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University will offer free tax preparation to all SU students, faculty and staff. The service will be offered for individual, non-complicated tax returns that can generally be filed on IRS short forms (1040 EZ or 1040A). The Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) Free Tax Assistance group will be in the Flaum Grand Hall located in the Whitman School building every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Feb. 18-April 10.

The service will be offered on a first come, first served basis and is directed toward tax payers who need extra help in figuring out their taxes. "For people who are inexperienced in handling their taxes, this is a great way for them to get consulting advice in a comfortable environment," says junior Shawn Paciotti, project coordinator. "It is also great experience for the members of BAP to be able to offer their knowledge and apply what they've learned in the classroom."

Tax forms will be provided to those who do not yet have them. For more information contact Shawn Paciotti at sppaciot@syr.edu.
