Protestant Campus Ministry at Syracuse University's Hendricks Chapel will hold its annual Faculty and Staff Sunday on Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. in the chapel.

All are welcome to attend. Parking is available in the University's visitor pay lots.

Gertrude Danzy, a member of the housekeeping staff at University College, will be the guest preacher during the worship service. Danzy, who has worked at SU for 14 years, was honored by the University on Jan. 20 with a 2008 Martin Luther King Jr. Unsung Hero Award. Danzy received the award for her deep and diverse advocacy for workers in the community, particularly for speaking up for those who don't have a voice.

Each year, Protestant Campus Ministry sets aside a Sunday during the spring semester in which a University faculty or staff member delivers the sermon during the worship service. This provides members of the SU and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry communities with an opportunity to experience the faculty or staff member as a whole person, with dimensions of spirituality, faith and civic engagement, not just in their job role.
