Syracuse University Library Associates will present a talk, "Radical Children's Literature," Feb. 7 at 4 p.m. in the Peter Graham Scholarly Commons, on the first floor of E.S. Bird Library. Presenters Julia Mickenberg of the University of Texas at Austin and Philip Nel of Kansas State University will provide a definition of radical children's literature and discuss its history in the United States and its relationship to the larger history of radical politics. The pair recently collaborated on an anthology of 43 stories written by children's authors. The book, "Tales for Little Rebels: A Radical Children's Literature Anthology," will be published in 2008 by NYU Press.
The event is free and open to the public. Pay parking is available in the Marion Lot on Waverly Avenue.
