Syracuse University College of Law Vice Dean Robin Paul Malloy was recently confirmed as a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a distinction limited to a fractional percentage of lawyers. As a fellow, he helps to support the empirical research efforts of the foundation. As a professor, Malloy will be able to interact with the research resources of the foundation.
He has also been made a member of the American Association of Law Schools Committee on Research and has been appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Law and Policy.
"I have long been recognized for my interdisciplinary work in law and it is great to have the opportunity to support the American Bar Foundation in its efforts," Malloy says. "This, coupled with my appointment to the standing committee on research of the Association of American Law Schools and to the Journal of Law and Policy is a wonderful opportunity and a continuing recognition of the tradition of interdisciplinary scholarship associated with the E.I. White Chair at the College of Law."
Malloy is the E.I. White Chair and Distinguished Professor of Law at the SU College of Law, as well as director and founder of the college's Center on Property, Citizenship, and Social Entrepreneurism and professor of economics (by courtesy appointment) in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He earned a B.S. degree at Purdue University, a J.D. at the University of Florida and an LL.M. at the University of Illinois.
Malloy writes extensively on law and market theory and on real estate transactions and development. He has published 12 books and more than 30 articles, and contributed to 10 other books. His most recent book is "Real Estate Transactions: Problems, Cases, and Materials" (Aspen Publishers, 2007).
