Polls on Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 6) will be open from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Students and faculty/staff residents who registered by Oct. 12 to vote locally in Onondaga County should have received postcards indicating their polling location. These locations are also listed on kiosks at the Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center on North Campus and the Goldstein Student Center on South Campus. Users can locate their residence on the map and look at the corresponding list of polling locations to verify where to vote.
Those who have registered to vote, and reside in the City of Syracuse's 16th Ward, District 1, should have received postcards from the Onondaga County Board of Elections stating that their polling location for the general election is the Martin J. Whitman School of Management (WSOM) building's Flaum Grand Hall.
Parking for these voters will be available free of charge in the University Avenue Garage on a space-available basis. The Office of Parking and Transit Services will place signs at this location stating "Voter Parking Here." Voters should tell the parking attendant on duty that they are on campus to vote and will be granted a parking space if there is room. In the event that the lot is full, the parking attendant will direct the voter to a lot with available space. Disabled parking will be honored in the marked disabled spaces in the University Avenue Garage by displaying New York State disabled plates or hanging tags. Disabled access is available at the Whitman School building's Marshall St. entrance.
Those who have registered to vote and reside in the City of Syracuse's 14th Ward, District 4, and 19th Ward, District 3, should have received postcards from the Onondaga County Board of Elections stating that their polling location for the general election is the Goldstein Student Center on South Campus. Parking for voters will be available free of charge in the lot adjacent to the Goldstein Student Center on a space-available basis.
Additionally, the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) is sponsoring a shuttle from Flint Hall on Mount Olympus Drive to Toomey Abbott Towers from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Election Day. Signs will be posted near the main doors of Flint Hall to let voters know about the shuttle service and where to wait for the shuttle. Voters with questions can call NYPIRG at 476-8381. NYPIRG is New York state's largest nonpartisan, student-directed consumer, environmental and government reform organization.
