One of the hottest topics of discussion in recent years has been real estate -- from buying and selling to subprime mortgages, community planning and construction. The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University is delving into these issues with a Real Estate Open House, hosted by the James D. Kuhn Real Estate Center at the Whitman School, on Friday, Oct. 12, at 10:30 a.m.

Michael Falcone '57, founder and chairman of Pioneer Companies; James Kuhn '70, M.B.A. '72, president and principal of Newmark Knight Frank; and Edward Pettinella M.B.A. '76, president and CEO of Home Properties, will lead a discussion on "Navigating Real Estate Opportunities Today." The open house will take place in Room 402 of the Whitman School building. Space is limited; R.S.V.P. to the Dean's Office at (315) 443-3751.

"Whitman is thrilled to welcome back three of our successful alumni who are all experts in the real estate field to offer their insights and experiences on all issues related to real estate," says Melvin T. Stith, dean of the Whitman School. "The study of real estate is of growing importance to Whitman students, and the open house is a great opportunity for them and for members of the community to learn from some of the best."

The Kuhn Real Estate Center was inaugurated in October 2006. Since then, the Whitman School has added new courses on real estate to the curriculum and created a real estate minor. Additionally, the Whitman Real Estate Club is currently the fastest growing student club in the school.
