Memorial service for SU Distinguished Professor Per Brinch Hansen to be held Oct. 17 in Hendricks Chapel

A memorial service for Per Brinch Hansen, Distinguished Professor of Computer Science in Syracuse University's L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science (LCS), will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 4 p.m. in Hendricks Chapel.


Friends and colleagues are invited to attend; parking will be available in the Irving Garage. Individuals should notify the parking attendant they are attending the Hansen memorial service. A reception will follow in the Hendricks Chapel Noble Room.


Brinch Hansen, a resident of Syracuse, died July 31. He was 68.


Brinch Hansen was internationally known for his pioneering development of computer operating systems and concurrent programming. He joined the SU community in 1987.
