Dean Hannah R. Arterian recently announced that two faculty members were honored with named professorships at Syracuse University College of Law.
Lisa A. Dolak L'88 and Richard I. Goldsmith were named Board of Advisors' Professors of Law for a term of three years. The Board of Advisors Professorship is funded by members of the College of Law Board of Advisors to recognize and provide additional financial support to outstanding faculty members.
"Both Professor Dolak and Professor Goldsmith are deserving of this recognition," says Arterian. "Our continued ability to provide named professorships emphasizes our law school's commitment to excellence in teaching, research and professional service."
Dolak is senior associate dean for academic affairs; associate director of the Center on Property, Citizenship and Social Entrepreneurism; and associate director of the Institute for the Study of the Judiciary, Politics and the Media at Syracuse University. Her research centers on issues at the intersections of patent law and judicial procedure and patent law and legal ethics.
Goldsmith directed the Environmental Law Clinic, organized the Public Interest Law Firm and currently teaches administrative law, environmental law, government regulation and federal civil procedure. Before coming to SU, he was in private practice, specializing in corporate litigation.
Law professor Sarah Ramsey currently holds a Board of Advisors' Professorship through the 2008-09 academic year. She serves as director of the Family Law and Social Policy Center and teaches family law, children and the law, a family law seminar, and a pro bono service course.
