ESPN360.com, ESPN's online sports video network that provides multi-feature broadband sports coverage, including live and exclusive college games, is now available free to University students, faculty and staff
through http://www.espn360.com. With this service, members of the University community will be able to watch live coverage and highlights of sporting events that are being carried by ESPN360, including some local and out-of-town SU football, basketball and lacrosse games.

In addition to live game feeds, ESPN360 provides regularly updated sports news, photographs, scores, statistics, audio and video highlights and clips, and interactive games and features. Any student, faculty or staff member registered on the SU computer network is now able to watch ESPN360, which often carries live SU games, match-ups between Orange rivals and other sports events of interest taking place both nationally and internationally.

ESPN360 is accessible through Internet connections on the SU campus network only. This service will not extend to Internet connections off campus, including DSL and cable modem connections. ESPN360 is not a pay subscription service, but a licensed service to cable/DSL operators.

To access it from a computer on the SU network, go to http://www.espn360.com. After installing an updated media player, a window will pop up to play the selected video.

Among the highlighted features of ESPN360 are:

  • exclusive coverage of live events with unique camera angles, ESPN360.com Bottomline updates and real-time in-game stats;

  • highlights and expanded coverage of the latest games from all of the major sports, plus fantasy sports video;

  • expanded themed programming around a specific sports event, including player and coach interviews, historical content and bonus coverage; and

  • ESPN Shows featuring specialized online content from popular shows such as "Outside the Lines," "PTI," "Around the Horn" and other ESPN Original Entertainment productions.

"We know the campus community will be excited about the ability to see Syracuse Orange football on ESPN360," says Paul Gandel, SU vice president for information technology and services and chief information officer. "I'm pleased that our continuing work to enhance the campus network allows us to bring services like ESPN360 to the campus."
