Syracuse University's Kaleidoscope Project, offered through the Division of Student Affairs, is now accepting applications for matching grants of up to $5,000 to bring programs to campus for explorations of diversity, difference and dialogue around related issues. The deadline for the current grant cycle is Oct. 1.
The grant project was founded in 2003. It is designed to create and maintain an inclusive learning environment at SU; it does so by expanding opportunities for the campus and local communities to become more educated about, and engaged in, meaningful discussions about diversity-related issues like race, ethnicity, gender, age, religious beliefs, sexual orientation and disability.
Available through a competitive application process to recognized student organizations, faculty and staff, Kaleidoscope grants are administered by the Office of the Senior Vice President for Student Affairs and the Dean of Students Office. Grant requests are evaluated for the positive impact they will make in educating the campus community on issues related to race, ethnicity, gender, age, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, internationalization, disability or other forms of diversity. Applications must articulate a clear statement of purpose and identify workable plans for implementation and assessment of each program, as well as budget information and plans for matching funds.
