The L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science Alumni Association (LCSAA) at Syracuse University will present the second annual Whitey Hotze Classic golf tournament on Friday, Sept. 14, at the Pompey Golf Club, 7200 Hamilton Road. in Pompey. The event is open to the public; all friends, supporters and alumni of the college are encouraged to participate.
Golfers and non-golfers alike are invited to participate in the event, which will be a captain-and-crew format. Tee time is at noon. Social hour will begin at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Registration is $75 per person for golf, cart and dinner and $25 for dinner only.
Established in 1992, the LCSAA advances the cause of engineering and computer science education at SU. The annual golf tournament was renamed last year to honor the late Irving (Whitey) Hotze '43, a staunch supporter of SU and LCS. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Whitey Hotze Scholarship Fund, which supports deserving LCS students.
The LCSAA is looking for organizations, corporations and individuals to sponsor the event.
