The next citywide art open, Third Thursday (Th3), will take place on Thursday, June 21. On the third Thursday of each month, visual arts venues across the city of Syracuse, including those operated by Syracuse University, are open from 5-8 p.m. to entice dedicated arts patrons and newcomers to explore the city's arts landscape. Some venues present special programming. This month's Th3 will feature a special guided tour of select SU arts venues and the opportunity to meet local artists.
David Prince, associate director of SUArt Galleries, and staff from Light Work and the Special Collections Research Center at E.S. Bird Library will present a tour of several Th3 venues located on the SU campus. The tour begins promptly at 6 p.m. at SUArt Galleries, located in the Shaffer Art Building.
Prince will guide patrons on a tour of SUArt Galleries and will take the group on a walk across campus to view sites and art works, including the sculpture "The Herakles" by Antoine Bourdelle and the mosaic "The Passion of Sacco and Vanzetti" by Ben Shahn, which is located on the east wall of Huntington Beard Crouse Hall. The tour will conclude with a personal introduction to the Special Collections Research Center and Light Work's photography galleries in the Robert B. Menschel Media Center by staff members. The guided tour is ideal for those who would like to become more familiar with the SU campus and enjoy the significant and impressive exhibitions these SU venues have to offer. Free parking for the tour is available in the Q4 parking lot.
As part of this month's Th3, Eureka Crafts will also present its ongoing featured artist program. June's featured artist is local jeweler Sam Graceffo, who will demonstrate jewelry-making techniques using silver wire. Artists may also be present at Delavan Art Gallery and Rothenberg Gallery at The Redhouse.

The Everson Museum of Art, Onondaga Community College (Arts Across Campus) and Point of Contact Gallery will not be open for this month's Th3.
Th3 is a galvanizing force in supporting and recognizing local artistic achievement and the creation and display of the visual arts in Syracuse. Th3 visual arts venues include members of SU's Coalition of Museum and Art Centers (CMAC), among others.
Th3 attendees are encouraged to ride Centro's Connective Corridor shuttle to visit art venues between SU and the Delavan Art Gallery. The shuttle bus will stop at all marked Centro bus stops along the Connective Corridor. The shuttle is free. For more information and to view the shuttle schedule,
