The Visiting Artist and Speakers Program in the School of Art and Design in Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts will present a lecture by artist Marylyn Dintenfass on Tuesday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the main auditorium of The Warehouse, 350 W. Fayette St. Parking is available in areas adjacent to The Warehouse. This is a rescheduled lecture that was previously scheduled for Feb. 13.
"Things are not what they seem," Dintenfass says. She believes the variable quadrant in her grid paintings is like an annotation or commentary revealing an element of danger, tension and naughtiness -- perhaps exuberance, spontaneity and comic relief.
Dintenfass is an internationally recognized artist whose work can be found in public and private collections across Denmark, Israel, Italy, Japan and the United States. More than 25 public collections hold her work, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
