Newhouse alumni television, movie screenwriters to visit SU March 29-30 for public discussion, student visits

Screenwriters and producers Chris Viscardi and Will McRobb, both alumni of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, will visit campus March 29-30. Their visit is sponsored by Newhouse's Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture.


They will discuss the partnered screenwriting experience on March 29 at 7 p.m. in Room 464, Newhouse II. The talk is free and open to the public. Parking is available in SU pay lots.


While on campus, Viscardi and McRobb also will work with Newhouse's Screenwriting Master Class (TRF 557), visit other classes, and meet with students individually.


Viscardi and McRobb have worked on numerous feature film scripts, including "Snow Day"; "The Tales of Despereaux" (scheduled for release December 2008); "Measle and The Wrathmonk"; "The Travel Agent"; "Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging"; "The Cricket in Times Square"; and "Artemis Fowl." Television credits include "The Adventures of Pete & Pete"; "The War Next Door"; "Kablam!"; "Ed"; "Brutally Normal"; "The Naked Brothers Band"; "Speed of Life"; and "Robertsons' Greatest Hits."


McRobb's television credits also include "The Ren & Stimpy Show," "Doug" and "Radio Free Roscoe." Viscardi also worked on the music video for REM's "Shiny Happy People."
