Syracuse University

The next citywide art open, Third Thursday (Th3), will take place on Thursday, March 15. On the third Thursday of each month, 15 visual arts venues across the city of Syracuse, including those operated by Syracuse University, will be open from 5-8 p.m. to entice dedicated arts patrons and newcomers alike to explore the city's burgeoning arts landscape. Some venues will present special programming.

Th3 is a galvanizing force in supporting and recognizing local artistic achievement and the creation and display of the visual arts in Syracuse. Th3 visual arts venues include members of SU's Coalition of Museum and Art Centers (CMAC), among others.

Unique programming for the Th3 on March 15 includes:

• Delavan Art Gallery: Artists in attendance from "The Language of Art" featuring water media by Barbara Kellogg, varied works by Nives Marzocchi, and works by artists featured in SU's new community-oriented arts annual "Stone Canoe," a journal of arts and ideas from Upstate New York.
  
• Everson Museum of Art: Current exhibitions "Lost Cases Recovered Lives: Suitcases from a State Hospital Attic," "Passionate Observer: Eudora Welty Among Artists of the Thirties," "Hey You With the Totally Awesome Face: Jeremy Bailey, 2006 Everson Biennial Winner" and a panel discussion on "Transforming to a Recovery System Through Person Centered Planning" at 6:30 p.m.
  
• Eureka Crafts: Open studio with Ron Kalinoski and Amy Patricia Komar of Stoneharp Studios.
  
• Redhouse/Rothenberg Gallery: "Meet the Artist" reception with Rachel Harms.
  

The Connective Corridor Shuttle Bus (Centro Route # 543) will run during and after Th3 from 5-11:40 p.m. Th3 attendees are encouraged to ride Centro's Connective Corridor shuttle to visit art venues between SU and Delavan Art Gallery.
