The Syracuse Symphony Orchestra (SSO), a community partner with Syracuse University's Pulse, is offering specially priced tickets -- $5 for SU students and $15 for faculty and staff -- for "American Rhythms" Friday, March 9, and Saturday, March 10, at 8 p.m. in the John H. Mulroy Civic Center at Oncenter. Ticket availability is limited and a valid SU I.D. is required. The SSO Customer Service Center can be reached at (315) 424-8200 or (800) 724-3810.

Acclaimed conductor Gerard Schwarz and SSO principal timpanist Patrick Shrieves will take audiences on an American musical journey. "American Rhythms" celebrates composers David Diamond ("Symphony No. 4"), Aaron Copland ("Billy the Kid Suite"), Michael Daugherty ("Raise the Roof Timpani Concerto") and Howard Hanson ("Symphony No. 1").
