Filmmaker and computer graphic animator Walter Ungerer will present his newest computer graphic animations at 7 p.m. April 12 in Shemin Auditorium in Syracuse University's Shaffer Art Building.

Ungerer teaches film and photography at the University of Vermont and Goddard College. He has also been a visiting professor at SU.

Originally a painter and animator, Ungerer became one of the leading experimental narrative filmmakers of the 1980s. During the past seven years, his work has turned to new explorations of computer graphics as a tool for his poetic vision.

Ungerer's presentation is sponsored by the Department of Art Media Studies in the School of Art and Design (College of Visual and Performing Arts).
