The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University will host a lecture by Alan Verdun '94, executive vice president of sales for News America Marketing, on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 5 p.m. His presentation, "Building Market Share Through Customer Incentives: Practical Applications of Targeting and Positioning" will take place in Room 402 of the Whitman School building and is free and open to the public. A reception in the Milton Room will follow. Public parking is in the University Avenue Garage.
Verdun began his career at News America Marketing in 1994 as an account coordinator. Since then, he has held several positions within the organization, including account associate, account director, general sales manager, business analyst and regional sales manager. He has worked out of the Atlanta, Dallas and Wilton, Conn., offices, as well as the New York City office, where he is stationed today. Verdun is currently executive vice president of sales for News America's eastern region, which encompasses the Boston, Pittsburgh, New York, East Brunswick and Atlanta sales offices. The eastern region's client list includes the world's largest consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies, including Campbell's, Unilever, Kraft and GlaxoSmithKline.
Verdun is a graduate of the Whitman School, where he majored in finance with a concentration in marketing.
