To avoid traffic backups for Syracuse University men's basketball games, SU's Office of Parking & Transit Services asks fans seeking paid parking to avoid the surface lots just west of the Carrier Dome and instead visit the University Avenue Garage, Booth Garage and the Manley South lot, all of which are conveniently located and available for paid parking.

Traffic on streets around the west surface lots has become increasingly congested, sometimes backing up to I-81, as those without season parking permits mix with permit holders. The west lots accommodate parking permit holders only.

Another option is the OnTrack train service from the Armory Square Station, 269 W. Jefferson St. The train is available on game days starting 90 minutes before tip-off, with free parking in the downtown OnTrack lot; a round-trip ticket costs $4. The arrival and departure platform on the Hill is at the base of East Raynor Ave., just a few blocks from the Dome.
