The Association for Student Elderly Connection (ASEC) at Syracuse University will sponsor a panel discussion, "Aging in America: The Science and the Services," April 8 at 7:30 p.m. in 105 Link Hall.
Panelists will include Deborah Monahan, professor of social work in the College of Human Services and Health Professions (HSHP); Patricia Coleman, assistant professor of nursing in HSHP; Kay E. Mevec, executive director of the New York Statewide Resource Center for Geriatrics; and Brenda Silverman, a social worker with the Jewish Home of Central New York.
ASEC is a student group on the SU campus that aims to bring students and the elderly of the community together in a fun and interactive environment. The group also works towards creating more awareness about the lives and needs of the elderly, and attempts to abolish some of the prejudices that exist against that generation.
