The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services -- including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention -- the National Influenza Vaccine Summit and other partners have named this week, Nov. 27-Dec. 3, as National Influenza Vaccination Week to promote flu vaccination among members of the public. After vaccinating hundreds of Syracuse University and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry students, faculty and staff earlier this fall, SU Health Services has restocked its supply of vaccine and will resume administration of flu shots immediately.
Vaccination is available to all SU and ESF students, faculty and staff. Health Services is unable to provide the vaccine for dependents.
Until Dec. 13, hours of administration are 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday-Friday, with no appointment necessary. After Dec. 13, individuals wishing to receive vaccine will be required to call Health Services for an appointment. The cost is $16 for students, which can be billed to student's Bursar's account. It is $22 for faculty and staff, which can be paid by cash or check. Charges for students enrolled in the College Blue, Blue Point or Orange Point health plans can be billed directly to Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Insurance will not be billed for faculty and staff.
