The Syracuse University Oratorio Society will join with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra (SSO), a community partner with SU's Pulse, for a performance of Mozart's epic last piece, "Requiem," Nov. 17-18 at 8 p.m. in the Mulroy Civic Center at Oncenter. The SU Oratorio Society will perform under the direction of Elisa Dekaney, faculty member in the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music in the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

Arguably one of Mozart's finest and most recognized works, "Requiem" combines traditional requiem verse with robust, emotional movements. The performance will feature soprano Ann Monoyios, mezzo-soprano Stacy Eckert, tenor William Hite and baritone Timothy LeFebvre as soloists. Also included will be Rouse's dramatic percussion piece "Ogoun Badagris" and Bartok's thrilling "Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta."

Tickets for the performance start at $15. To purchase tickets or for more information, call the SSO Customer Service Center at (315) 424-8200 or (800) 724-3810, or visit http://www.syracusesymphony.org.
