SU College of Law concludes Lawyering for Social Justice Lecture Series April 4 with First Amendment lawyer Herald Price Fahringer

Herald Price Fahringer, a partner in the Lipsitz, Green, Fahringer, Roll, Salisbury and Cambria law firm, will deliver the Syracuse University College of Law's Sherman F. Levey Distinguished Lecture April 4. He will speak on "Is There Really Equal Justice for All?" at 3 p.m.in the Barclay Lecture Hall, Room 200 of Winifred MacNaughton Hall. The presentation is also part of the college's Lawyering for Social Justice Lecture Series.



Fahringer is a well-known First Amendment attorney who has tried several prominent cases, including State of Ohio v. Larry Flynt. Fahringer is also a successful criminal defense attorney, has served as a legal commentator on CNN, and has authored numerous articles. He has argued 14 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and has argued or tried cases in more than 20 states.



His recent awards include the Charles F. Crimi Memorial Award from the New York State Bar Association, Criminal Justice Section (1999); the Buffalo Law Review Award (1999); the Edward R. Finch Award from the American Bar Association (1998); and the Thurgood Marshall Award from the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (1995).



Fahringer received bachelor's (1950) and master's (1951) degrees from Pennsylvania State University and a juris doctorate from the SUNY Buffalo School of Law in 1968.
