USA Today White House correspondent to speak Oct. 10 at Newhouse

Syracuse University alumnus Richard Benedetto '65, G'71, H'92, White House correspondent for USA Today, will give a journalist's preview of the 2006 midterm elections Oct. 10 at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. His lecture, part of the school's Leaders in Communications Lecture Series, will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Studio A, Newhouse II. It is free and open to the public. Paid parking will be available in the Marion lot.



In his 35-year career reporting on politics and government on the local, state and national levels, Benedetto has covered the administrations of Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. He has also covered every presidential campaign since 1984. He is the author of a just-published memoir, "Politicians are People, Too" (University Press of America, 2006). Following the program, the audience will have a chance to meet the speaker at a reception, also in Studio A.
