The SU School of Education's Reading and Language Arts (RLA) program is celebrating the school's centennial with a Homecoming Weekend conference. "Celebrating Our History to Build Our Future: A Reading and Language Arts Center Celebration of the School of Education Centennial" will bring together RLA alumni, faculty and students, and includes a number of featured speakers. The event, scheduled for Oct. 6-7, will take place in the Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center and the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel & Conference Center. Registration is required.
Noted author Laurie Halse Anderson is the featured dinner speaker. The conference also includes several concurrent sessions. Session speakers include Allen Berger, professor emeritus, Miami University of Ohio; Jeanette Fanelli, Mid-State Regional School Support Center, OCM BOCES; Sharon Kane, SUNY College at Oswego; and Dorothy Troike, professor emeritus, SUNY College at Cortland. The registration fee is $60, which includes two continental breakfasts and Friday dinner. The $10 student registration fee does not include dinner.
