The Office of Residence Life (ORL) has started the early decision resident advisor (RA) hiring process for 2007-08 positions. This process is for upper-class and graduate students only and has been designed to allow students to plan for the next academic year.

The leadership role that RAs play in the residence halls is critical to assisting students in their academic success and transition to college. The ORL seeks mature and diverse individuals interested in assisting students and serving as positive academic and personal role models.

The ORL would appreciate assistance identifying individuals who would be strong candidates for the RA position. You can nominate students by visiting http://orl.syr.edu no later than Monday, Oct. 9. Upon receipt of a nomination, the ORL will notify the potential candidate and invite him/her to fill out an application.

All interested upper-class and graduate students are eligible to apply for this position. Applications will be available on the ORL website beginning Oct. 2. Completed applications are due to the ORL office (111 Waverly Ave., Suite 200) by Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 3 p.m. First-year students cannot apply through this process, but are encouraged to apply in December for 2007-08 positions.
