Arian Campo-Flores, Newsweek's Miami bureau chief, will speak on media coverage of the immigration debate Sept. 28 at Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. His lecture, part of the school's Leaders in Communications Lecture Series, will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Studio A, Newhouse II. It is free and open to the public. Paid parking will be available in the Marion lot.
During his six-year career with Newsweek, Campo-Flores has covered some of the nation's top stories for the magazine. During the 2004 presidential election, he covered the pivotal state of Florida. An early reporter on the scene after the attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, he has subsequently written about the war in Iraq as an embedded journalist with U.S. troops. Most recently, he covered stories on the debate over immigration. Following the program, the audience will have a chance to meet the speaker at a reception, also in Studio A.
