Panera Bread executive to lecture at Whitman School

Scott Davis, senior vice president and chief concept officer of Panera Bread, will speak at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University on Thursday, Sept. 7. The lecture, titled "Business Strategy Consulting," will begin at 5 p.m. in the Lender Auditorium located on the concourse level of the Whitman School building.


Davis began his career at Au Bon Pain Co., Inc., in 1987 as a store manager. In 1993, he became new concept manager, leading the development of the Au Bon Pain Co., Inc., Choices concept. At Panera Bread, Davis spearheaded the creation of a new prototype bakery-cafe for Saint Louis Bread Co. in 1996 and is now working on the next-generation bakery-cafe for Panera Bread. Davis is responsible for Panera customer experience projects. He holds an associate's degree of applied sciences in computer science from Mohawk Valley Community College.


Panera Bread was established in 1981 and currently operates 939 bakery-cafes in 37 states.
