R. Leland Davis and F. Mathew Zlomek lead newly elected board officers of the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems (Syracuse CoE). Davis serves as chairman of the board, and Zlomek is president.
Other newly elected officers are Suresh Santanam, secretary; Shannon Magari, assistant secretary; Peter Freer, treasurer; and William Pisano, assistant treasurer.
Davis is senior vice president at O'Brien & Gere. As newly elected chairman of the Syracuse CoE Board, Davis succeeds Orrin B. MacMurray, who served three years in the role. MacMurray is chairman and CEO of C&S Companies.
Zlomek is senior vice president at HSBC Bank. As newly elected board president, Zlomek succeeds Davis, who served two years.
Santanam is deputy executive director of the Syracuse CoE and research associate professor of biomedical and chemical engineering at Syracuse University. As newly elected secretary of the Syracuse CoE Board, Santanam succeeds Barry Kogut, who served for six years. Kogut is a partner at Bond, Schoeneck & King.
Magari, Freer and Pisano were re-elected to officer positions that they held previously on the Syracuse CoE Board. Magari is principal and vice president at Colden Corp. Freer is principal at Firley, Moran, Freer & Eassa. Pisano is executive vice president and chief financial officer at RobsonWoese Inc.
The Syracuse CoE is a federation of more than 70 firms and institutions that collaborate to create innovations to improve built and urban environments. Partners in the Syracuse CoE collaborate in research, development and education projects relating to clean and renewable energy, indoor environmental quality, human health and performance, healthy buildings, and water resources.
The Syracuse CoE's Office for Industry Collaboration (OIC) leads the initiative to promote economic development in the cluster of energy and environmental systems firms located in a 12-county region at the center of Upstate New York. The Syracuse CoE OIC is an independent, nonprofit corporation chartered by New York State in 2000. The Syracuse CoE Board serves as the board of directors of the Syracuse CoE OIC.
