Donovan recognized with NYSACAC's President's Award

Susan E. Donovan, dean of admissions at Syracuse University, was recently honored by the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling (NYSACAC) with its 2006 President's Award. This award recognizes one of NYSACAC's 1,300 members who has worked with distinction on behalf of the organization and the profession.


Donovan has directed undergraduate admissions at SU for more than 20 years. She was named director of admissions in 1986, associate dean of admissions and financial aid in 1992, and dean of admissions in 1999. Donovan currently serves on the University's Academic Deans Roundtable, University Senate, Senate Agenda Committee, Gear Up Advisory Board, Syracuse City School District Consortium, Athletic Policy Board and Coronat Scholars Selection Committee.


She holds a bachelor of arts degree from SU's College of Arts and Sciences and a master of science degree from SU's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.


NYSACAC shapes professional standards and practice for secondary and post-secondary counselors in New York state and is committed to insuring the highest standards of service to students and families in the formulation and realization of educational goals.
