The Whitman School reached new levels of success in the 2005-06 academic year as students competed in competitions throughout the United States and abroad.

Whitman graduate and undergraduate students participated in competitions focused around entrepreneurship, supply chain management, retail management, finance and accounting.

"The Whitman School is dedicated to giving students relevant, practical experience which will be meaningful for them in their future careers," says Melvin T. Stith, dean of the Whitman School. "The increase in the number of competitions our students participate in and their success in these competitions demonstrate the high caliber and enthusiasm of the students that Whitman attracts."

Exemplifying Whitman's commitment to providing students with real-life, hands-on experiences, the Whitman School also launched its first CASE Competition this year, which was open to all Whitman M.B.A./M.S. graduate and senior undergraduate students. The prize money totaled $5,000.

Additionally, through the Department of Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises, the Whitman School is home to the renowned Panasci Business Plan Competition, which annually awards $40,000 in prize money. Held in April 2006, the Whitman team Fresh Cut Florals won first place and $25,000.
