Poet Michael Burkard will read from his work at 5:45 p.m. March 28 in Syracuse University's Gifford Auditorium in Huntington Beard Crouse Hall. The event, part of the Raymond Carver Lecture Series, is free and open to the public.
Burkard, assistant professor of English in The College of Arts and Sciences, is the author of eight collections of poetry, including "Unsleeping" (Sarabande Books, 2001), "Entire Dilemma" (Sarabande Books, 1998) and "Fictions from the Self" (Ww. Norton, 1988). He is the recipient of a Whiting Writers' Award, the Poetry Society's Alice Fay di Castagnola Award, and two grants from both the New York State Foundation for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
