Syracuse University Chancellor and President Nancy Cantor announced the creation of the new Bandier Program for Music and the Entertainment Industries and the new EMI Center for Internship, Mentoring and Career Development at a kick-off event June 5 at the Total Request Live studios at MTV.
The Bandier Program, funded through a generous grant by Martin Bandier '62, chairman and co-CEO of EMI Music Publishing, will be a robust 128-credit undergraduate program combining on-campus instruction with internships, special extracurricular activities and a London study-abroad experience to prepare new generations of music and entertainment leaders. The program is a collaboration of SU's College of Visual and Performing Arts, S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Martin J. Whitman School of Management, and College of Arts and Sciences.
The EMI Center, established by a generous gift from EMI Music Publishing, will help students to become involved in internship, mentoring and career opportunities.
