The undergraduate business program in Syracuse University's Martin J. Whitman School of Management has been ranked as one of the top 50 best undergraduate business programs nationwide in BusinessWeek magazine. The Whitman School is listed at 42. This is the first undergraduate business ranking undertaken by BusinessWeek. The issue hits newsstands May 1.
"The Whitman School is immensely pleased with our top-50 undergraduate program ranking," says Dean Melvin T. Stith. "We are well aware of the high quality of our program and the dedication of our faculty. It is validating to have an external source confirm our excellence, and we are confident this ranking will do even more to help Whitman raise our profile and attract even better-quality candidates to our undergraduate program."
The rankings are based on a survey of about 85 undergraduate business programs nationwide, as well as a survey of nearly 100,000 business majors and 2,000 recruiters. BusinessWeek also took into consideration starting salaries and the rate at which undergraduates enroll into M.B.A. programs.
