The Whitman School at Syracuse University will host Chuck Ingene, the Robert M. Hearin Chair of Business Administration at the University of Mississippi, speaking on game theory and distribution channels April 28 at 12:30 p.m. His lecture, titled "Of Models and Myths: A Prolegomenon of Game-Theoretic Analyses of Distribution Channels," will take place in Room 525 in the Whitman School building.
Ingene will discuss seven "Channel Myths" -- that is, several assumptions that are widely employed in game-theoretic analyses of distribution channels -- concerning modeling and strategic advice.
Ingene is the former editor of the Journal of Retailing. Before joining the University of Mississippi, he taught at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Washington. He is co-author, with Mark Perry, of "Mathematical Models of Distribution Channels" (Springer-Verlag, 2004).
Ingene holds a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Brown University.
