April 6 Charity Sports Auction at SU features hundreds of items from nationally recognized sports teams and players

More than 250 items from nationally recognized professional and collegiate sports teams and players will be up for bid at what's being billed as the "largest indoor tailgate party" at Syracuse University April 6 from 6-9 p.m. at the Carrier Dome. Highlights will include:

Hosted by the Sport Management Club, a student organization in SU's College of Human Services and Health Professions (HSHP), and HSHP's Sport Management Program, the event will raise money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse, as well as the student club. Tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for kids 16 and under. Admission includes three food items from Carrier Dome Concessions, entry in a lottery for an autograph session with Gerry McNamara, and a chance to take part in the auction.




Renowned sports agent and SU alumnus David Falk will deliver the Jreck Subs Sport Management Distinguished Lecture at 7 p.m. Following his talk, he will
present the Jreck Subs "Perseverance in Sports" Award to Jason McElwain, the
Rochester-area high school senior who made national headlines when he scored 20 points in the last four minutes of his high school's final varsity basketball game of the year, despite the fact that he is autistic. The lecture and award presentation are free.
