As part of its Levey Lecture Series, Syracuse University College of Law will host Ken Feinberg, Special Master of the Federal September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001. His lecture, "The 9/11 Fund: Private Pain & Public Compensation," is scheduled for April 11 at 11:45 a.m. in Room 100 of MacNaughton Hall. Public parking for this event is in Irving Garage.
Feinberg was appointed by the attorney general of the United States to serve as the Special Master of the Federal September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001. In this capacity, he developed and promulgated the regulations governing the administration of the fund and administered all aspects of the program, including evaluating applications, determining appropriate compensation and disseminating awards.
Feinberg is an attorney and one of the nation's leading experts in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. He is the managing partner and founder of The Feinberg Group, LLP.
Feinberg received a bachelor's degree cum laude from the University of Massachusetts in 1967 and a J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1970, where he was articles editor of the Law Review.
