The Shaped Clay Society of Syracuse University, a student-run organization of undergraduate and graduate ceramics majors in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, has curated "Shaped Clay 2006," an exhibition of ceramic art created by high school artists from around the United States. The juried exhibition will be on view at the Everson Museum of Art, 401 Harrison St., April 8 through May 14. The Shaped Clay Society and the Everson have hosted the biennial exhibition since 2002.
"Shaped Clay 2006" brings together exemplary ceramic work from around the country, including work by East Syracuse-Minoa High School seniors Michelle Bennett and Amanda Dober. Other New York State students are represented in the exhibition, including a student from Fly Creek, four from Yorkshire and one from Wolcott.
The Everson Museum of Art is open to the public Tuesday-Friday and Sunday noon-5 p.m.,
and Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of
