Syracuse University Florence (SUF) recently staged the children's opera "Snow White"
to sold-out crowds in Florence, Italy, in collaboration with Florence's Teatro del
Maggio Musicale opera house and the Myer Children's Hospital of Florence.
Proceeds -- 7,000 Euros, or about $8,400 -- are being donated to the hospital
to fund a new playroom.
SUF students, and students from SU's home campus,
designed and built sets and also sang in the opera alongside their Italian
counterparts. SUF students visited Italian elementary schools and presented
"Snow White" (in English) to schoolchildren.
