The Orange men's basketball team's inspiring run to the Big East Tournament title, the No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament's Atlanta Regional, and tonight's first-round matchup with Texas A&M have put Syracuse fans in a state of SUphoria.
Among the ways they are expressing support for the team is by wearing orange. Since the weekend, people have been flocking to the Syracuse University Bookstore in the Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center on campus to scoop up officially licensed Orange t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts and children's clothing. And online orders to the Bookstore's website
(http://bookstore.syr.edu/) have come from as far away as Alaska and overseas, including servicemen.
The most popular item sold has been the orange "Overrated?!! #3" T-shirt. More than 7,000 of these shirts have been purchased over the past four days, along with more than 2,000 Big East Tournament Champions t-shirts and hats.
The sales figures are especially notable considering SU is on Spring Break this week -- students are gone.
SU Bookstore hours today and Friday are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
