The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs has announced the appointment of Mary Ann Fraser to the position of Assistant Provost for Budgetary Affairs.
Fraser will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of budget planning within Academic Affairs in her new role. Her efforts will support the Academic Plan of Vice Chancellor and Provost Deborah A. Freund and the academic mission of Syracuse University.
"Mary Ann is a pleasure to work with, and her new title comes with great admiration for her devotion to consistent quality work," says Freund. "She accomplishes her work with great independence, great competence and with a true concern for all students, staff and faculty who depend on Academic Affairs."
As part of her new position, Fraser will act as a liaison to members of the Development staff in connection with donor relations within the office of Academic Affairs.
Fraser will also be a member of the vice chancellor and provost's administrative cabinet and an ex officio member of the Senate Budget Committee.
Fraser received her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from the State University College at Oswego in 1975. Fraser began her career with SU in 1980 as the senior secretary in The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). She held various positions in CAS until July 1985, when she became the Executive Assistant for the Budget in the Office of the Vice Chancellor.
