The Lowe Art Gallery presents the Master of Fine Arts Exhibition

The Joe and Emily Lowe Art Gallery at Syracuse University announces the annual Master of Fine Arts Exhibition, running March 21 through April 13. An opening reception will be held March 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Shaffer Art Building.

The exhibition is a culmination of the academic careers of 16 School of Art and Design, College of Visual and Performing Arts Master of Fine Arts candidates as they near completion of their formal studies. The show not only serves as a celebration of the graduating students' accomplishments, but also highlights the depth and diversity of their work.

Featured in the exhibition are more than 60 works selected by the artists. The works span media and styles from painting, prints and ceramics to video art, quilts and installations that defy traditional classification.

The Master of Fine Arts Exhibition was organized by students in the Graduate Program in Museum Studies and has been supported by the Office of the Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Affairs, the College of Visual and Performing Arts and the Office of the Director of the School of Art and Design.

The Joe and Emily Lowe Art Gallery is located in SU's Shaffer Art Building and is handicapped accessible. Exhibitions are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 5 p.m., and Wednesday, noon to 8 p.m. For further information, call (315) 443-3127.
