"Cultural diversity is our strength" crows a flyer from the Syracuse University School of Management. The school will flaunt that strength March 23 as it stages its sixth annual International Day celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Crouse-Hinds School of Management Building's atrium.
Students from Brazil, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, India, Jamaica, Japan, Poland, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey will provide foods from their countries free to members of the University community. Some will wear native dress from their respective cultures. The event will also include singing, dancing and exhibits from various countries.
"International Day has been very successful," says Peter Koveos, associate dean for M.B.A. and master's programs in the School of Management. "It brings together students and other members of the University community, and helps them to learn about other countries."
The event is sponsored by the Werner Heumann Institute for Cultural Understanding, the Kiebach Center for International Business Studies, the School of Management and the M.B.A. Student Association.
