The University Senate Committee for Diversity has announced the Third Annual Diversity Recognition Award. The award is given to an individual or group in the University community who has demonstrated the core factors of working to improve interaction, cooperation, understanding or the furtherance of dialogue among diverse groups on campus.
Nominations by students, faculty or staff will be accepted, and should include the following:
Submissions should be no longer than three pages and include the names of two individuals, beyond the nominee, who will support the nomination. Letters of nomination should be sent to one of the co-chairs of the Senate Committee for Diversity: Tej Bhatia, professor and chair of the Department of Languages, Literatures & Linguistics, 340 H.B. Crouse Hall; and Linda Alcoff, professor of philosophy and director of the Women's Studies Program, 208 Bowne Hall.
Nominations must be received by March 3. The award will be announced at the
April 19 meeting of the University Senate. For more information,
