SU calls on students to stop the raid on student aid

October 24, 2005

Over the summer, Syracuse University's Office of Government and Community Relations called on students, faculty and staff to provide a voice in opposition to the funding cuts and policy decisions included in proposals aimed at reauthorizing the Higher Education Act (HEA).

Final congressional approval is anticipated before the end of December. During the weeks to come, it will be imperative for members of the University community to contact members of Congress, encouraging them not to cut student loan funding.

The Student Aid Alliance-a coalition of organizations representing students, colleges and universities-has created several avenues by which members of the higher education community and others can contact Congress. To learn more and to contact members of Congress,
