Central New York film and video artists are invited to an open forum, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m., at the Palace Theatre, 2384 James St., Syracuse, sponsored by the Syracuse International Film and Video Festival (SIFVF), the B-Movie Film Fest, Cultural Resources Council of Onondaga County and the Palace Theatre.

The gathering will be an opportunity for media artists to discuss needs and ideas for the future of film/video production and presentation in Central New York. Discussion topics will include exhibition opportunities, funding sources, communication networks, production resources, personnel and shooting locations. Kenneth White '05, a Syracuse University alumnus and outreach director for the SIFVF, will moderate the discussion.

"We hope this open forum develops into a Central New York Film Commission, an all-purpose resource for CNY film and video artists," says White. "As a recent graduate of Syracuse University, I think this program further promotes Syracuse as an attractive and supportive working environment for young media artists."
