Michael Schwartz, assistant professor in the Syracuse University College of Law, is scheduled to appear on WCNY-TV, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. A second airing of the program will take place Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. Schwartz will be a panelist on the one-hour television show, "My So-Called Disability Series," which is a partnership between Cazenovia College and a network of Central News York human services agencies. The series focuses on the issues and concerns that currently face the deaf community.
Schwartz began his legal career as a law clerk to a Southern District of New York judge. He then served as assistant district attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office; trial attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice; solo practitioner in the New York City metro region; and assistant attorney general in the Civil Rights Bureau of the New York State Department of Law.
A member of the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut bars, Schwartz directs the Public Interest Law Firm, where he supervises students in disability litigation and teaches disability law. He is completing his dissertation in Education and Disability Studies at SU.
