The Syracuse University Symphony Orchestra and University Singers will present their annual holiday concert on Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.
The University Singers, appearing under the direction of G. Burton Harbison, associate professor in SU's Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music, will perform familiar holiday songs including "Deck the Halls," "Away in the Manger" and "Jingle Bells." Mendelssohn's "Heilig" will be sung in German and Palestrina's "Rorate Coeli" will be sung in Latin.
The Symphony Orchestra, appearing under the direction of James Tapia, associate professor in the Setnor School, will perform holiday favorites "Nutcracker Suite" and "Sleigh Ride." The audience will be asked to participate in the concert's finale of "A Carol Festival," featuring "Joy to the World," "We Three Kings of Orient Are," "Silent Night" and other holiday songs.
Setnor Auditorium is located in Crouse College. Parking is offered in the Irving and University Avenue garages.
